The summit of Gokyo Ri, often mistaken as being in India, is actually located in the Khumbu region of Nepal, near the Tibetan border – just west of the Everest Base Camp trail. Rising to an altitude of 5,357 meters (17,575 feet), it offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views in the Himalayas, often considered even more breathtaking than from Everest Base Camp itself.

From the summit, trekkers are rewarded with an unobstructed 360° view of four 8,000-meter peaks: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. The turquoise Gokyo Lakes below add a surreal splash of color, reflecting the snowy peaks like natural mirrors. Unlike the busier Everest trails, the route to Gokyo Ri is quieter, making the experience more intimate and meditative.

The climb to the summit is steep and challenging, especially due to altitude, but accessible to trekkers with moderate fitness. Reaching the top at sunrise or sunset transforms the scene into a cinematic, golden-lit spectacle. For nature lovers and adventurous souls, Gokyo Ri is a hidden Himalayan jewel – raw, remote, and unforgettable.

Patan Patola saris, handwoven in Patan, Gujarat, are among India’s most exquisite and rare textile treasures.

Known for their complex double ikat technique-where both the warp and weft threads are tie-dyed before weaving-each Patola sari is a mathematical and artistic marvel, requiring months (sometimes years) of meticulous planning and craftsmanship.

Traditionally woven by the Salvi family, who have preserved the technique for over 900 years, Patola saris were once reserved for royalty and aristocrats. Their designs are rich in symbolism, featuring motifs like elephants, parrots, flowers, and geometric patterns, each holding spiritual or cultural meaning.

What makes Patan Patola truly unique is that the design is identical on both sides-a rare achievement in textile art. These saris are also highly durable, often passed down as heirlooms across generations.

The Jane in Antwerp, Belgium, is not just a restaurant-it’s a full-fledged tourist experience for travelers who appreciate design, fine dining, and architectural storytelling.

Housed in a restored 19th-century chapel, The Jane blends historic charm with edgy modern luxury. The original stained glass has been reimagined with contemporary motifs, while a dramatic 800-kg chandelier adds theatrical flair to the space.

With a Michelin star under chef Nick Bril, the food is equally bold-expect a seasonal tasting menu that fuses Belgian roots with global influences. Tourists often visit The Jane not just for the cuisine, but for the atmosphere: dining in a sacred space where art, music, and gastronomy come together.

It’s a must-visit for food tourists, architecture buffs, and culture travelers seeking a memorable, upscale experience in Antwerp. Reservations are essential, and it’s best to pair your visit with a walk through the stylish Zuid district nearby.
